CPD Courses and Workshops
We can provide tailor made CPD courses and interactive workshops for teachers and educational professionals on a wide range of STEM areas such as computing, robotics and engineering. We have knowledge and experience of many of the commonly used education platforms within these subject areas (e.g. Arduino, micro:bit, Raspberry Pi).
These courses are developed and delivered by an experienced professional Engineer and STEM Ambassador with a real passion for engineering and technology, supported by a fully qualified secondary school teacher.
Sample Course – micro:bit 1-day introduction
This sample course is provided to give an idea of potential course content – please contact us to discuss your course requirements. All courses can be tailored to suit differing levels of experience/knowledge.
The BBC micro:bit is the microcontroller being given to every year 7 pupil across by the BBC and its partners. During this 1-day CPD course, delegates will get an introduction to the micro:bit, hands-on experience of writing programs for it and learn how to interface it with the physical world. The course will arm you to deliver engaging lessons using the micro:bit for the new computing curriculum and is delivered by a professional software & electronics engineer.
At the end of this course, delegates will:
- Understand the features and capabilities of the micro:bit and how to interface it with the physical world using sensors & actuators
- Get hands-on experience of programming the micro:bit from a professional software engineer
- Discover a wide range of cross-curricula classroom projects and lesson activities using the micro:bit
- Feel more confident in delivering computer science education according to the new national curriculum for computing
