Boat Monitoring System2016 - sbRIO, WebSockets, PCB
A LabVIEW project using the NI Single Board RIO for monitoring a narrowboat. The system contains a real-time dashboard (based on WebSockets with integration to a third party cloud data provider. It interfaces with various on-board sensors such as the inverter/charger, wireless temperature/humidity sensors and various web APIs (e.g. weather, flood warnings).
The system was presented at the Sheffield LabVIEW User Group in March 2016 - you can view the presentation here.
Giant Tetris2014 - myRIO, WebSockets, LEDs
The myRIO Giant Tetris started as a personal project to create a giant (~6ft tall) version of Tetris using addressable RGB LEDs. The project has now been released as Version 1.0 and a second set of hardware was produced for National Instruments to exhibit at NI Week 2015. The game is playable over Wifi on any device with a modern web-browser such a PC, smartphone or tablet! You can read the full write-up on the National Instruments website here and the project also appeared on Hackaday.
